Astronomy and Astrobiology Dual-PhD student Guadalupe Tovar is joining VPL as part of Dr. Meadows’ team at UW. During her undergraduate years at UW, she worked with VPL graduate student Jacob Lustig-Yaeger. As part of her research, she will be using coupled climate and photochemical models to understand Early Earth.
Graduate student Benjamin Hayworth has joined VPL member Dr. Jim Kasting’s team at PSU. His research this summer will revolve around the feasibility of atmospheric ammonia as an exoplanetary biosignature using 1-D climate and photochemical modeling.
Both are part of this year’s Santander Summer School in Astrobiology cohort.
